Fifth-Third Face-lift
Fifth-Third Ballpark will be getting a bit of a face-lift this fall, getting ready for play in 2013. In this project, the West Michigan Whitecaps will be rewarding their loyal fans with new premium seats behind home plate. The old bleacher seats are being removed, and new seats will be inserted soon. We usually don’t sit in this area, but it’s nice to know that they keep improving the ballpark every year. I can’t wait for April of next year and our first trip to see some baseball.

Stadium renovations are always one of the coolest things to see. It’s nice when you team tries to stay on top of things and improve the fan experience.
The Whitecaps do a pretty good job of keeping up on things. They draw pretty well, so the money’s there, and it’s good they put it back into the ballpark and do things for the fans. The old-time scoreboard and video screen they installed for this season was great.

I’ve never heard of bleachers directly behind home plate, and I guess the Whitecaps finally realized why. It is a very nice thing that they’re doing. And, it makes me think of what’s happening of a similar nature here in Minneapolis with Target Field’s right field bleachers.

Mateo-they have stadium seating directly behind home plate, but the bleacher seats were in a whole section above that. The entire second tier was bleachers until now.
