About Michael David
I’m a graduate of Lake Superior State
University up in Michigan’s U.P. Not much baseball up here,
so my home team is the West Michigan Whitecaps. I was born in
Grand Rapids, MI, so I still feel allegiance to them. I love
Minor Leauge Baseball and visiting different stadiums and
ballparks. I fell in love with Grayson Stadium down in
Savannah, Georgia, too. That is just a magical place to watch
a ball game. Some of my other favorite minor league teams are the Portland Sea Dogs, Durham Bulls, and Great Lakes Loons.
I coach Little League Baseball and enjoy
spending time with my wonderfull kids.
My writing career mostly involves college hockey. I covered the
Lake Superior State Lakers for USA College Hockey Magazine
during the 2002-03 season. When that folded, I created my own
website called Laker Hockey Fanz. Due to time constraints and
the fact that it was a ‘pain’ to keep updated, I shut the
site down after a few years. Feeling the ‘itch’ again, I
became a beat writer once more, this time for Michigan
College Hockey Online, still covering the Lakers. I did that
for the 2007-08 and 2008-09 seasons before stepping down due,
again, to time and also to creative differences. I also
covered the Lakers for a local paper called the Community
Vioce before that, too, folded. With my passion for baseball,
especially the Minor Leagues, growing, I thought MLBlogs to
be the perfect outlet for my writing. I also have a personal
site(blog) which keeps track of my kids’ sports careers.
In 2016 we moved down to Kentucky, and now call Louisville Slugger Field home. We love cheering on the Bats, as well as the NCAA Louisville Cardinals and Kentucky Wildcats. The move has also given us a chance to experience some Major League games up in Cincinnati.
